Generators Exercise MIMO Schemes

Among its many product lines on display at the 2012 IMS (booth No. 807), Anritsu will be showing its new MG3710A series of vector signal generators (VSGs). Capable of generating the complex signals found in many modern communications systems, such as LTE, LTE Advanced, W-CDMA/HSPA, and CDMA2000 networks, three models offer frequency coverage of 100 kHz to 2.7 GHz, 100 kHz to 4.0 GHz, and 100 kHz to 6.0 GHz. The MG3710A has two separate built-in RF outputs, each of which allows two modulation schemes to be selected simultaneously, and as many as four signals can be generated at one time for testing multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) systems.

The VSGs feature a wide in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) vector modulation bandwidth of 120 MHz that can be extended to 160 MHz by means of an external I/Q input. The generators switch frequencies quickly, with typical performance exceeding 600 microseconds, making them well suited for high-speed production testing.
