ANSYS provides engineering simulation software that enables customers to predict the behavior of their product designs in the real world. The company focuses on offering a common platform of fully integrated multiphysics software tools. Those tools are designed to optimize product-development processes for a range of industries including aerospace, automotive, civil engineering, consumer products, chemical process, electronics, environmental, healthcare, marine, power, sports, and others. With its acquisition of Ansoft Corp. in 2008, for example, ANSYS gained a suite of products designed to simulate the electronic designs found in mobile communication and Internet devices, broadband networking components and systems, integrated circuits, printed-circuit boards, and electromechanical systems.

To help customers speed design and development while reducing costs, ANSYS software can be applied to design concept, final-stage testing, validation, and the troubleshooting of existing designs. ANSYS also is focused on a process that it calls Simulation Driven Product Development™, in which modeling and simulation can be used to drive new solutions rather than merely verify existing ones. Combined with its subsidiaries, ANSYS employs over 1600 people.
