Mod/Demod Unit Spans 20 to 300 MHz

Model CMX973 is a combination of an IF/RF quadrature demodulator and quadrature IF/RF modulator, supplied in a 32-lead VQFN package. It operates from 20 to 300 MHz with in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) receive bandwidth of 10 MHz and I/Q transmit bandwidth of 25 MHz. The demodulator is suitable for superheterodyne architectures with IF frequencies up to 300 MHz and may be used in low IF systems or those converting to baseband. The modulator converts directly from baseband to the desired transmit frequency and features quadrature phase correction to minimize unwanted spectral components. It provides a 0-dBm modulator output level with better than 1-deg. I/Q phase matching and better than 0.5-dB gain matching. It operates from supplies of +3.0 to +3.6 VDC and consumes low current. The circuit, which is controlled by serial bus, is ideal for avionics radios, wireless data terminals, and software-defined radios (SDRs).
