It’s an old problem: Graduates flood the workforce after college, and their new employers are left training them because they lack hands-on experience. To alleviate this problem, a new program is targeting engineering students and industry professionals. Hailing from the Academy of Project Engineering UK, it aims to boost engineer salaries, optimize career tracks, and improve the industry as a whole.

The academy’s Project Engineering program and Certified Project Engineering Professional (CPeP) certification examination were launched to help third and fourth-year students enter the industry with more valuable experience. The programs, which involve several accredited certification courses, also serve as a bridge between different engineering disciplines—both for experienced engineers and working executives who need to gain a better grasp of the industry. The academy’s s main goals are to raise the standards within the engineering industry across a wide range of programs pertaining to oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, production and manufacturing, construction, and engineering consultation.
