Using WLANs At 60 GHz

Wireless-local-area networks (WLANs) are now a part of almost any "connected" home or office. They usually operate within the industrial-scientific-medical (ISM) frequency bands at 2.45 GHz, but versions are also available for use at 60 GHz. For short-range communications, the generous bandwidth at 60 GHz supports data rates to 100 Mb/s, which is considerably faster than lower-frequency WLANs at 2.45 and 5 GHz. Of course, signal propagation can sometimes be problematic at 60 GHz, so setting up a WLAN at those higher frequencies requires some homework.
