Arcadian Networks, a wireless carrier for energy companies, has entered into a business partnership with FreeWave Technologies to improve its existing wireless communications capabilities. The wireless carrier will make use of FreeWave's spread-spectrum Industrial-Scientific-Medical (ISM) band radio technology on a 700-MHz private, licensed, and secure communication platform. As part of the agreement, Arcadian Networks will market, sell, and distribute FreeWave's 700-MHz products, providing electric utilities and oil and gas companies' greater equipment diversity and flexible bandwidth and deployment options.

According to Ed Solar, chief executive officer of Arcadian Networks, "Arcadian Networks currently offers customers a robust wireless broadband platform, which combines the privacy and security of our licensed 700-MHz spectrum with state-of-the-art voice and data-networking equipment.
