Oscilloscopes Approved For PCI Express 2.0 Testing

Jack Browne  |  ED Online ID #18981 |  May 15, 2008

Agilent Technologies announced that its 13-GHz Infiniium 90000A series digital oscilloscopes have been approved by the PCI Special Interest Group for PCI Express 2.0 (PCIe) electrical signal quality testing. As a result, designers can use Agilent's DSO/DSA91304A Infiniium oscilloscope to test and validate their designs with confidence they will meet PCIe physical layer specifications.

According to Al Yanes, PCI Special Interest Group president and chairman, "We are pleased to see Agilent's latest oscilloscope approved for use in our workshops for PCIe 2.0 electrical testing. Testing tools like the Infiniium 90000A series oscilloscope will help speed industry adoption of PCIe 2.0 and ensure that developers obtain the necessary signal quality based on the 5GT/s PCIe 2.0 technology." Scott Sampl, general manager of Agilent's Oscilloscope Business, added, "Agilent is delighted to have its newest flagship Infiniium 90000A series oscilloscope approved for official PCIe 2.0 testing. Designers need the right tools to validate physical layer compliance in order to ensure interoperability. We believe the Infiniium 90000A is the right tool for PCIe 2.0 technology."
