Microwave circuits are generally enclosed in rectangular shields before integration into a larger system. Unfortunately, when the shield cover goes on, it can cause unexpected results, such as the oscillation of "unconditionally stable" amplifiers, an increase in transmission-line losses, and unwanted coupling.
