Compact Synthesizer Runs 6250 To 8000 MHz

April 28, 2014
This compact synthesizer with internal reference oscillator tunes from 6250 to 8000 MHz.

Model THOR-8000-XA is a miniature high-reliability frequency synthesizer with internal reference for frequencies from 6250 to 8000 MHz. The source tunes in 500-kHz steps with switching speed of faster than 300 μs, while delivering +15 dBm output power with ±2.5-dB output-power flatness. The phase noise is better than -100 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier. Spurious content is held to -60 dBc or less while harmonics are controlled to -20 dBc or less. The frequency synthesizer runs on less than 350 mA current from a +5-VDC supply. The synthesizer is built to deliver its rated specifications for operating temperatures from -30 to +70°C. It measures just 2.5 × 1.1 × 0.4 in.
