Mixer Spans 1 MHz to 6 GHz

Aug. 29, 2013
A broadband mixer covers RF/LO frequencies from 1 MHz to 6 GHz with an IF range of 1 MHz to 4.5 GHz.

Model LTC5510 is a broadband mixer that spans 1 MHz to 6 GHz. With an intermediate-frequency (IF) port that extends from 1 MHz to 4.5 GHz, the mixer can be used for upconversion or downconversion tasks. It offers a +27.8-dBm output-third-order-intercept (OIP3) point as an upcomverting mixer and a +24.9-dBm input-third-order-intercept (IIP3) point as a downconverting mixer at 2 GHz. It features 1.1-dB conversion gain and 11.6-dB noise figure for excellent dynamic-range performance. The mixer is designed with an on-chip local-oscillator buffer amplifier and requires only 0-dBm local oscillator (LO) power. The LO signal leakage to the RF input is a mere -70 dBm. The compact mixer, which is supplied in a 16-lead, 4 x 4 mm QFN package, is specified for operating temperatures from -40 to +105ºC. It is optimized for a +5-VDC supply, with supply current of 105 mA, but can be powered by a +3.3-VDC source.
