LNA Trio Assists Base-Station Designers

Three new low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) from Avago Technologies provide the performance needed by many modern cellular base-station designs, with noise figures as low as 0.37 dB through 2 GHz. For example, model MGA-633P8 operates from 450 to 2000 MHz with noise figure of 0.37 dB. Model MGA-634P8 has noise figure of 0.44 dB from 1500 to 2300 MHz, and model MGA-635P8 provides noise figure of 0.56 dB from 2300 to 4000 MHz. The amplifiers are fabricated with 0.25-micron GaAs E-pHEMT technology and deliver gain from 17.4 to 18.0 dB with output power at 1-dB compression as high as +22 dBm and output third-order intercept points approaching +35 dBm. The RoHS-compliant devices are supplied in 8-pin QFN packages measuring 2.0 x 2.0 x 0.75 mm. Datasheets for all three devices, and the devices themselves, are available from Richardson Electronics.
