2-W Chip Resistors Flaunt Low Heat Rise

With an electrically efficient, small-footprint option, the RHC resistor series provides a 2-W power rating over a resistance range of 0.1 Ω to 1 MΩ. At 2 W power, the RHC series promises to generally run cooler than other chip resistors of the same size and power rating. According to the company, temperature is reduced by 30 to 40C. The main applications for these resistors are commercial and industrial power systems, controls, and industrial and commercial automation. Other markets include medical equipment, audio applications, high-speed communication, thermostats and HVAC, avionics, and instrumentation. The RHC series is available in 4000-piece quantities on standard
7-in. reels. Some sizes and resistance values also are offered in 1000-piece reels. Pricing varies with tolerance and resistance value from around $0.25 to $0.40 each in minimum quantities.
