Up-/Downconverting Mixer Covers 2000 To 3000 MHz

AN UP-/DOWNCONVERTING MIXER has debuted for base stations that demand high linearity and a low noise figure, such as Long Term Evolution (LTE), WiMAX, WCS, and MMDS. The MAX2042 covers 2000 to 3000 MHz. When it is configured as a downconverter, this silicongermanium (SiGe) passive mixer features an intermediate-frequency (IF) range of 50 to 500 MHz with 1800-to-3000-MHz local-oscillator (LO) signals. As a downconverter, it provides a +36-dBm input third-order intercept point, +23.4- dBm input 1-dB compression point, 7.2 dB conversion loss, and 7.3 dB noise figure. As an upconverter, the MAX2042 delivers input third-order intercept point of +32.4 dBm, -67 dBc local-oscillator (LO) 2 IF suppression, and conversion loss of 6.8 dB. With a -10-dBm RF tone, it boasts -70 dBc of 2RF-2LO performance. The on-board, 0-dBm drive LO buffer provides 3-dB drive-variance control. It offers gain-variation performance of 0.44 dB over the -40 to +85C industrial-temperature range. Prices start at $5.95 (1000-up, FOB USA).
