Hittite Microwave has introduced a 70-dB true RMS power detector for applications from DC to 3.9 GHz. Suitable for power measurement and control in wireless systems, the power detector converts RF signals at its differential inputs to scaled linear-in-dB response that is the RMS equivalent of the input waveform. The power flatness is within 2 dB for dynamic range of 73 dB at 900 MHz, and 71 dB at 2.2 GHz. The rise time is about 10 ns while the output fall time is 500 ns. Measurement error is less than 0.3 dB for power levels to +5 dBm. For more information on the power detector, visit Hittite Microwave at: www.hittite.com..
