SOA Amplifies 100 Gb/s Optical Networks

CIP has announced an innovative semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) for all-optical networks operating to 100 Gb/s. The amplifier, which features a gain recovery time of 10 ps, is a nonlinear device with 20 dB gain. It is suitable for a wide range of optical network applications, including four-wave mixing, cross-gain modulation, or cross-phase modulation.
