Model SSPA 0.5-2.5-50 is a solid-state power amplifier module from Aethercomm designed for use from 500 to 2500 MHz. Based on gallium nitride (GaN) device technology, the amplifier measures just 3.4 x 6.4 x 1.06 in., but provides 40 to 50 W output power at 3-dB compression. The typical gain is 53 dB, with noise figure of typically 10 dB at room temperature. The typical gain flatness is 2.5 dB. The Class AB amplifier draws 2 A quiescent current from a +28-VDC supply. The amplifier module includes an external DC blanking command that enables the unit in 500 ns and disables the module in typically 3000 ns. It is supplied with female input and output RF connectors.
