AT4 wireless Authorized For Wi-Fi RF Performance Testing

Global testing facility AT4 wireless (Malaga, Spain) has been authorized by the Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA) and the Wi-Fi Alliance to perform full RF testing of Wi-Fi Mobile Converged Devices. The accreditation adds to the number of technologies that the test facility can evaluate, including testing of total radiated power, total isotropic sensitivity, and de-sensitivity (with other wireless technologies).

As Jose de la Plaza, Wireless Laboratory manager at AT4 wireless, notes: "Our Over-The-Air facility covers 2.5G, 3.5G, WLAN, Bluetooth and WiMAX testing. These technologies are now more and more implemented jointly in products such as mobile phones, notebooks, PDAs to facilitate the access to Internet everywhere and makes communication easier." He adds that "The co-existence of several wireless technologies within the same device demands a dedicated care from designers when defining the RF performance of the complete device."
