Capacitor supplier AVX Corp. has upgraded several of its capacitor simulation software tools and has offered downloads on its web site. The computer modeling and simulation software tools can help improve circuit quality and save time to market. For example, the latest version of SpiTanII software, which enables designers to select tantalum and Oxicap (niobium oxide) capacitors by capacitance, voltage, case size, or series. The company has also expanded the PSpice simulation software libraries it offers for its tantalum, tantalum polymer and niobium oxide chip parts, and has introduced Version 6.0 of its Select-a-Cap software tool. About 500 new models have been added to the PSpice simulation software libraries, matching the range covered by the new SpiTanII software.
