Ceragon Receives Order From Mexican Mobile Operator

Ceragon Networks Ltd. announced earlier this year that it has received a $5 million follow-on equipment order from one of Mexico's leading mobile communications operators. Ceragon's wireless equipment will serve as part of a large-scale infrastructure expansion that includes capacity upgrades for an existing 2.5G wireless network. The expansion includes preparation to support 3G services in the near future. This order is the recent addition to an ongoing relationship between Ceragon and this Mexican customer since 2000. Ceragon's advanced microwave systems, which will be used to deliver high-capacity mobile backhaul capability, operate at frequencies in the 6-to-38-GHz range. The systems use single or dual independent, hot-swappable carriers with a cross-polar interference canceller (XPIC) mechanism.

According to Ira Palti, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Ceragon Networks, "We continue to strengthen our relations with our business partners in all regions of the world. This selection by a leading operator in a significant mobile market is another vote of confidence in our technological innovation, high quality service and customer-focused support." The company's equipment enables wireless service providers to deliver voice and high-speed data service based on microwave links to transfer network traffic between base stations and other infrastructure equipment.
