Compact Antennas Snare 2.4-GHz Signals

A line of low-cost, weatherproof antennas has been developed by Pulse, a Technitrol Company, for 2.4-GHz applications, including industrial, smart-grid, and other machine-to-machine applications. The compact W5001, W5010, and W5011 antennas are designed for Bluetooth, wireless local area networks (WLANs), WiFi, and other 2.4-GHz ISM-band systems. They provide maximum gain of 1.5 dBi from 2400 to 2500 MHz with typical efficiency of 70 percent. The tiny weatherproof antennas measure only 128 x 18 mm and are available in three SMA connector configurations: with fixed right-angle connectors, straight connectors, and RP-SMA connectors.
