Compact Duo Added To Spread-Spectrum Radio Line

FreeWave Technologies has added two high-speed radios to its spread-spectrum product line, models MM2-HS-T and MM2-HS-P with TTL and Ethernet interfaces, respectively. The radios, which can operate at wireless data rates to 1.23 Mb/s, measure just 2.0 x 1.4 in. They are available in versions from use at 1.3 GHz and from 340 to 400 MHz and feature GaAs FET front ends for 60-mile line-of-sight operating ranges.

According to Ken Granader, Vice President of Sales at FreeWave, "By offering an entire family of MM2 radios, we are giving our customers options to meet their various applications for embedded technology solutions. We made a high-speed version of the MM2-T because there are many applications within industry, government, and military where it's necessary to transmit large amounts of data, including multiple hi-res images and video along with data." The compact radios feature secure spread-spectrum technology with 256-b AES encryption; they weigh only 21 g.
