RF Engines Ltd. (RFEL)
Has been contracted by EONIC of Delft in The Netherlands for the development of a digital downconverter to be used in one of its latest signal-processing platforms. The high-speed design will enable the real-time extraction of large sections of spectrum from a wideband signal for subsequent analysis. The RFEL core will be implemented in a single Altera Stratix III field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and then incorporated into EONIC's hardware. It will accept data from a Maxim MAX109 analog-to-digital converter (ADC) running at speeds to 2.2 GSamples/s.
Iridium Satellite LLC
Has announced that the US Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren has awarded one of its subsidiaries a $21,688,808 indefinite-delivery and -quantity cost-type contract to support development and delivery of the Distributed Tactical Communications System (DTCS). DTCS is an extension of "Netted Iridium," the company's push-to-talk communications capability.
T-Mobile International
Has selected Rohde & Schwarz as its exclusive supplier of network-optimization test and measurement equipment. The contract includes the delivery of R&S ROMES software and associated mobile radio scanners to five European countries. T-Mobile International will use the drive test systems from Rohde & Schwarz to test the transmission quality of channels in its mobile radio networks.
Cree, Inc.
Has signed a definitive agreement with RFHIC Corp. in Suwon, Korea to supply GaN-on-SiC transistors to RFHIC for its GaN-HEMT amplifier families. Cree and RFHIC also entered into a market-development agreement to facilitate deeper market penetration of GaN-HEMT solutions. They plan to leverage Cree's expertise in GaN transistor production on SiC together with its MMIC foundry capability and RFHIC's leadership in packaging, amplifier integration, and volume assembly.

W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc.
Has announced that Richardson Electronics Ltd. will sell Gore's high-performance line of test and measurement microwave/RF cable assemblies. To support customer needs for high-precision test cable assemblies, Richardson can supply GORE PHASEFLEX microwave/RF test assemblies, GORE VNA microwave/RF test assemblies, and GORE Mini- CP RF coaxial assemblies as well as other products from Gore's Microwave/RF Cable Test Assemblies product line.

Has received ISO/TS 16949 certification, the highest international quality standard for the automotive industry. This represents a critical milestone in the company's strategic roadmap. It also has paved the way for increased presence in the automotive market.
DragonWave, Inc.
Has announced that Cedarcom, a Lebanese telecommunications provider, is deploying the Horizon Compact to deliver high-capacity Ethernet backhaul throughout its Mobi and WiMAX networks. Cedarcom's network provides extensive indoor and outdoor coverage using multiple wireless technologies. As the Mobi network continues to grow, the Horizon Compact is playing a key role in extending coverage to major cities in Mount Lebanon, North, South, and Bekaa valley.
Conexant Systems, Inc.
Has been included in the Russell Microcap Index. In addition, it was among the companies added by Russell Investments to the reconstituted index effective June 29. Russell Investments is a global investment company that serves individual, institutional, and advisor clients in more than 40 countries. Membership in the Russell Microcap Index, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the appropriate growth- and value-style indexes.

Has launched a new web site at www.pendulum-instruments.com. The company has customers in more than 100 countries and a distribution network of 80 companies serving the electronics, communications, metrology, and military markets with frequency counters, frequency standards and distribution systems, synchronization products, and wireless test equipment. SkyCrossHas acquired Shanghai Universe Communication Electronics Co. Ltd., an antenna manufacturer. This move enables SkyCross to provide expanded global support including antenna technology, widespread local offices, and high-volume manufacturing to wireless consumer-electronics companies. The combined company serves a range of markets including handsets, data cards, USB dongles, laptops, access points, and mobile personal entertainment devices.
Exalt Communications
Has announced that Restech Services, a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) serving the Madison, WI area, has deployed Exalt microwave radio systems to extend its reach into new service areas, rapidly deliver service, and replace an unreliable, low-capacity leased fiber connection. Exalt also has deployed its EX-2.4i and EX-2.4i-16 microwave radio systems at the East River Electric Power Cooperative serving a 36,000-square-mile area in South Dakota and western Minnesota. The Exalt systems are being used to upgrade legacy radio links of up to 30 miles between remote substations and other facilities as well as the cooperative's SONET fiber ring.

Has announced that its AN-80i Broadband Wireless Infrastructure radio has been placed on the Modules In Process List for the Federal Information Processing Standards Publications (FIPS) 140-2 Validation: Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules. The FIPS 140-2 validation is a requirement for any cryptographic product that will be used in a US government agency network.
