Editor's Note

The editors of Microwaves & RF have long tried to provide interesting and technically sound information for our readers. Admittedly, we cannot check the veracity of everything that passes through our pages, including Hal Walker's "Sidebands Are Not Necessary" (August 2011). Although the concept of ultranarrowband (UNB) communications would seem counterintuitive, our publishing the article has inspired much debate and some strong reactions from readers. In addition to Jeffrey Austen's letter from last month, our editorial staff has received a number of comments (pro and con) about Mr. Walker's piece. We greatly appreciate all correspondencepositive or otherwisefrom our readers.
