Impedance-Matching Pads Serve Satcom

A line of coaxial impedance-matching pads from BroadWave Technologies has been developed for satellite communications (satcom) applications. The impedance-matching pads eliminate mismatches between components in a satcom system without introducing reflections to the signal path. As an example, model 851-879-FM2 is a 50-to-75-Ohm impedance matching pad that operates from DC to 2 GHz. It is rated for 1-W power and has nominal insertion loss of 5.7 dB and VSWR of 1.40:1; it is supplied with female SMA connectors. Custom units are available in a variety of impedance and connector types from DC to 4 GHz.
