Low-Jitter Source Shrinks In Size

Oscillator specialist Valpey Fisher has announced the model VFXO302, a complementary-output crystal oscillator with LVPECL or LVDS output and available at frequencies from 25 to 270 MHz or 80 to 270 MHz, respectively. Designed for low-noise, low-jitter communications systems, the source achieves typically 0.3 ps jitter at offsets from 12 kHz to 20 MHz. At an offset frequency of 10 kHz, the compact crystal oscillator features phase noise of -140 dBc/Hz. Measuring just 5.0 x 3.2 mm in a RoHS-compliant surface-mount package, it can operate at +2.5 or +3.3 V.
