Oscillators Offer Many Noise Options

The Zeus Series of oven-controlled, voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (OCVCXOs) from Bliley are available from stocking distributor RFMW Ltd. with a variety of phase-noise-performance options. This second product in the company's Olympian family of oscillators, Zeus OCVCXOs can be specified for output frequencies between 30 and 130 MHz with phase noise as good as -178 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz from the carrier. The sources feature optional frequency stability with temperature from 500 to 50 ppb. Long-term aging is typically 1.5 ppb after 20 years. In terms of phase-noise performance, Option A provides phase noise of -103 dBc/Hz offset 10 Hz from the carrier, -133 dBc/Hz offset 100 Hz from the carrier, -160 dBc/Hz offset 1 kHz, -174 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz, and -78 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz. At the other end of the performance spectrum, Option D yields phase noise of -90 dBc/Hz offset 10 Hz from the carrier, -120 dBc/Hz offset 100 Hz, -153 dBc/Hz offset 1 kHz, -170 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz, and -174 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz.
