Fleischmann Assumes Role Of R&S President, CEO
MANFRED FLEISCHMANN takes over as President and CEO of Rohde & Schwarz from MICHAEL VOHRER, who is retiring after a 35-year span with the company. Fleischmann, who joined the company 25 years ago, has been a member of the executive board since 2005. He states, "My goal is, together with my colleagues, to maintain the company's economic independence and growth. Driving us toward this goal are both the company's global positioning (for example, our expansion activities in Asia) and its innovative products, such as the newly launched oscilloscopes, which will also open up new markets."

Agilent Technologies, Inc.DAVID E. ROOT, an Agilent Electronic Measurement Group Scientist, has been promoted to the position of Agilent Research Fellow. Root was a driving force behind the development of X-parameters and nonlinear VNA technology.

Raytheon Co.MARK T. ESPER has been named Vice President of Government Relations. Prior to Raytheon, Esper was the Executive Vice President of the Global Intellectual Property Center and Vice President of the US Chamber of Commerce.

Eutelsat CommunicationsDAVID BAIR has been named Chief Technical Officer. He joins Eutelsat from EchoStar Satellite Services, where he was Senior Vice President of Space Programmes.

BoeingEDWARD M. LIDDY has been elected to the Boeing Board of Directors. He rejoins the Boeing board, where he served from August 2007 to October 2008. Liddy left the board when the Secretary of the US Department of the Treasury asked him to serve as Interim Chairman and CEO of American International Group in conjunction with the US government's actions to provide stability to the firm.

Channel MicrowaveHAROLD AIKINS has joined this Smiths company as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining Channel, he worked as a Manufacturing Representative with Thorson Desert States, Inc. and Regional Sales Manager with K&L Microwave. Aikins is a former US Army Reserve Signal Corps officer.

dB ControlJOE HAJDUK, CEO, has won the Association of Old Crows (AOC) Award for Business Management. He will be presented with the award at the 47th Annual AOC International Symposium and Convention. In addition, CRAIG SHOTWELL has joined the engineering staff after nearly 30 years at Teledyne MEC and RAFAEL CISNEROS has been promoted to Director of Production Engineering Test/Support.
