Renaissance Acquires HXI Millimeter Company

Renaissance Electronics Corp. has announced its acquisition of Harmonic (HXI) Millimeter Company, a division of Proxim Wireless. Effective Aug. 29, RF/microwave component and subsystem manufacturer Renaissance had acquired substantially all of the assets of the Harmonix Division of the Terabeam Corp. subsidiary of Proxim Wireless. As part of the transaction, Renaissance and Proxim entered into an agreement for the continued supply and support of the GigaLink radios developed and manufactured by Harmonix, so that Proxim can ensure an uninterrupted supply of the millimeter-wave radios to its customers.

Tom Kurian, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Renaissance, noted: "This acquisition brings Renaissance closer to meeting its vision of being the world's preferred supplier of all frequency products. This will allow Renaissance to cover most of the components, integrated assemblies, and other products in frequencies ranging from radio to microwave to millimeter."
