Surface-Mount Antennas Pull In Multiple Bands

The latest addition to a line of broadband surface-mount-technology (SMT) antennas, the SMW-406 series from Mobile Mark, includes coverage for 1.7- and 2.1-GHz bands as well as for WiMAX at 2.5 to 2.7 GHz. The antenna series offers four separate cable feeds for Global Positioning System (GPS), 800 to 2700 MHz, 1700 to 2700 MHz, and dual 2.4-/2.5-GHz WiMAX applications. The typical gain is 2 dBi peak from 806 to 960 MHz, 5 dBi peak from 1710 to 2170 MHz, 5 dBi peak from 2400 to 2700 MHz, and 5 dBi peak at 2400 MHz and from 4900 to 6000 MHz. The SMW-406 series antennas are configured with 4 cables to connect with individual devices; other configurations are available. The antennas are enclosed in a weatherproof radome that measures 4.0 in. in diameter and 2.85 in. high.
