WLAN Test Set Checks CWG Gear

The MT8860C wireless-local-area-network (WLAN) Test Set from Anritsu Co. has been authorized by the CTIA and Wi-Fi Alliance to perform RF performance evaluation of Wi-Fi Mobile Converged Wireless Group (CWG) devices. Testing in the 2.4- and 5-GHz bands is performed according to the "Test Plan for RF Performance Evaluation of Wi-Fi Mobile Converged Devices," as firmware version 11.2 for the MT8860C. The test plan includes a comprehensive set of over-the-air (OTA) measurements that are taken in a 360-deg. environment to create "real-world" conditions. The MT8860C has an integral WLAN signal source and transmitter analyzer and can perform a number of transmitter measurements including power burst, spectral mask, and error-vector-magnitude (EVM) testing. It can also perform total radiated power (TRP) measurements and total isotropic sensitivity (TIS) measurements.
