M/A-COM Switch Controls WiMAX

Tyco Electronics today introduced a M/A-COM RoHS-compliant, dual single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch die well suited for wireless local-area networks (WLANs) as well as WiMAX applications. The M/A-COM MASW-008206-000DIE switch die is optimized for use at 2.4 GHz as well as at 5.8 GHz. The GaAs switch is designed for use with +3-VDC bias. It exhibits insertion loss of 0.7 dB at 2.4 GHz with 28 dB isolation and 1-dB compression point of +28 dBm. At 5.8 GHz, the insertion loss is 0.9 dB with 25 dB isolation and 1-dB compression of +28 dBm. Each switch is 100 percent RF tested to ensure performance compliance. It is priced at $0.19 each for 100,000 quantity.
