AR Modular RF has received Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification for its KMW2030 tactical radio amplifier system when used with the Harris PRC-117G tactical radio from Harris Corp. The amplifier, which was previously certified for use with the PRC 117F and the PSC-5D radios, operates from 30 to 512 MHz when used with the model KMW2030P external low-noise preamplifier for the ultra-high-frequency (UHF) satellite communications (satcom) band. The power amplifier offers selectable output levels of 50, 75, 100, and 125 W with ±0.5-dB flatness from 225 to 512 MHz, -40 dBc minimum harmonic levels, and -60 dBc minimum spurious levels.

The amplifier accepts input levels from 1 to 20 W to achieve its full rated output-power levels. Over the very-high-frequency (VHF) range of 30 to 174 MHz, it can provide as much as 100 W output power with frequency modulation (FM), with minimum harmonic and spurious levels of -40 and -60 dBc, respectively. The amplifier weighs 15 lbs. and measures 4.5 x 6.5 x 12 in. with RS-232 control.
