Cables Connect Airframe Assemblies

July 25, 2014
These lightweight coaxial cables provide low loss and high power handling capabilities through 18 GHz.

Lightweight coaxial cables in the GORE-FLIGHT 6 Series are engineered for low insertion loss through 18 GHz. They maintain consistent impedance of 50 ± 1 Ω with low VSWR in demanding airframe applications. The cables, which comply with MIL-T-81490 requirements, are well suited for a wide range of airframe applications, including in radar-warning systems, signal-intelligence (SIGINT) equipment, and navigation and communications systems. These coaxial cables offer 0.198 dB/ft. typical insertion loss at 18 GHz with 1.40:1 typical VSWR through 18 GHz with a straight connector. The coaxial cables achieve 90-dB shielding effectiveness (SE) through 18 GHz with 250 W average power-handling capability at room temperature. The coaxial cables have overall diameter of 8.9 mm (0.35 in.).
