Model CMD190 is a millimeter-wave low-noise amplifier (LNA) for applications from 33 to 45 GHz. The GaAs monolithic-microwave-integrated-circuit (MMIC) amplifier provides 19-dB gain and 2.1-dB noise figure at 36 GHz. The output 1-dB compression point is typically +4 dBm at 36 GHz. The typical input return loss is 17 dB and typical output return loss is 13 dB. The amplifier is impedance matched to 50 Ω, eliminating the need for external DC blocks and RF port matching. It uses all positive bias, drawing typically 25 mA current at drain and gate voltages of +2 VDC. It features an on-chip pinchoff tracking circuit to ensure consistent performance with temperature and process variations. The amplifier is fully passivated for increased reliability and moisture protection. The amplifier is suitable for use in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios, as well as military and space applications.
