Harris Corp.Has been awarded a contract from Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems to build Ka-band antennas for three Inmarsat-5 satellites. The Harris antennas will direct 95 Earth-based Ka-band beams, enabling the constellation of the three satellites to cover the entire globe. The constellation also will be able to adapt to changing usage patterns over the projected 15-year operation of the satellites. In addition, Harris Corp. has received a $6.1-million order to supply Falcon II AN/VRC-103 multiband, multimission vehicular radio systems to the US Department of Defense for use in mine-resistant ambush-protected all-terrain vehicles (M-ATVs). The Harris AN/VRC-103 is an integrated communications system that includes the Falcon II AN/PRC-117F software-defined manpack radio.
Sensis Corp.Has announced the acceptance of its modernization program for the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) Terminal Radar and Control System (TRACS) area surveillance radar (ASR-3). The fully redundant ASR-3 radar-modernization solution features a signal/data processor and solid-state L-band transmitter replacement. Six-level National Weather Service (NWS) weather data-processing capability is embedded in the software.
Spirent CommunicationsPCTEST Engineering Laboratory will use the Spirent 8100 Location Technology Solution for over-the-air (OTA) testing of GPS in LTE and multimode devices. PCTEST is a CTIA Authorized Testing Laboratory (CATL) for certification. In addition, the laboratory is authorized to carry out third-party certification testing for leading wireless operators, among them Verizon Wireless.
CETECOMHas selected Anite's LTE conformance toolset and SAS test solutions for Verizon Wireless device certification testing. The toolset offers coverage of LTE signaling protocol test cases encompassing both GCF and PTCRB certification requirements.
Space Systems/Loral (SS/L)Has been awarded a contract to manufacture a spacecraft for Australian telecommunications service provider SingTel Optus. The satellite, Optus 10, is slated for launch in 2013. It will be the tenth satellite in the SingTel Optus fleet to be launched for Australia and the second built by SS/L.
Jampro Antennas, Inc.Has received a contract from Jordan Radio & TV (JRTV), the Mideastern country's state broadcaster, to supply broadcast antenna systems and related transmission equipment to upgrade four systems. JRTV's order includes Jampro model JUHD UHF broadband panel antennas and combiners, JCPD FM panel antennas, combiners, and associated RF components.
