PCTEL—Has acquired the assets of TelWorx Communications. PCTEL paid $16.5 million in the transaction. A potential stock-based earn-out brings the total consideration to $18 million.

Passive Plus—The company has hired Sematron to serve as its sales representative throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

AWR Corp.—Has expanded its AWR Design Forum (ADF) 2012 Asia Pacific tour. Two stops in China have been added: Xi’an on Sept. 25 and Chengdu on Sept. 27. The call for papers for both locations
is now open.

Amphenol—Is now offering a web-based tool for configuring connector parts. The tool allows users to download 3D computer-aided-design (CAD) models or PDFs of the connectors they create. It is available at Amphenol’s website.

Ultra Clean Holdings—Has completed its previously announced merger with Advanced Integration Technologies (AIT). The merger is expected to be accretive to earnings for the balance of 2012 and for
all of 2013.

DuPont—Is expanding production capacity at its DuPont Circleville, OH facility. The project will add up to 400 tons of capacity and new manufacturing capabilities for its Kapton polymide films.

Laird Technologies—Has signed a distribution agreement with Air Computers for its Infrastructure Antenna System (IASs) product lines. The contract represents Laird Technologies’ first agreement with
an Argentina distributor. 

dB Control—Has established an environmental test lab adjacent to its main production facility in Fremont, CA. The lab offers Stress Screening (ESS), Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT), and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) services for traveling-wave-tube amplifiers (TWTAs).

AT4 wireless—Has been recognized by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for Bluetooth Qualification services and Near-Field-Communication (NFC) Forum Certification.

Creation Technologies—Has opened its second Silicon Valley manufacturing plant. The 79,000-sq.-ft. facility is located in Milpitas, CA.

Lockheed Martin—The company’s AN/APY-12 airborne reconnaissance radar has been cleared for export to certain countries including Taiwan, Italy, Sweden, and Korea. The AN/APY-12 is a dual-mode, X-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) with moving-target-indication capability.

Tektronix Component Solutions—The firm’s Orlando, FL component test facility has achieved AS9100 Rev C certification. AS9100C is based on the ISO 9001:2008 quality management standards, with additional requirements that pertain to the aviation, space, and defense industries.

Plextek—Has extended its test and measurement facilities to 75-GHz capability. This move is intended to accommodate increased development activity at V-band (50 to 75 GHz) and E-band (60 to 90 GHz) frequencies.

Maplesoft—Has opened an office in South Korea. Cybernet Systems Korea will exclusively distribute Maplesoft products within the country. Maplesoft is a subsidiary of Cybernet Systems Group.

Gowanda Electronics—Has acquired Instec Filters, a global supplier of EMI/RFI filters, feedthroughs, and filter assemblies. Instec recently moved its operations from California to Arcade, NY—near Gowanda’s headquarters in Gowanda, NY.

Rohde & Schwarz—Has acquired SwissQual, a Zuchwil, Switzerland-based provider of systems for measuring the quality of service (QoS) in wireless networks.

u-blox—Has acquired Cognovo, a United Kingdom-based company specializing in software-defined-modem (SDM) chip-
development technology. The purchase price was $16.5 million.

Richardson RFPD—Has signed a China distribution agreement with Sapa Group. Sapa, an aluminum extrusion producer, maintains operations in Europe, North America, and Asia.

M/A-COM—Is now offering e-commerce functionality through its website. Key features include credit-card or purchase-order payment methods, standard lead times, and standard or priority worldwide shipping.

Digi-Key and Anaren—In accordance with a new global distribution agreement, Digi-Key will distribute Anaren’s Integrated Radio (AIR) modules.

MegaPhase—Has released a free iOS app for the Apple iPhone, iTouch, and iPad. Targeted toward testing engineers, the app can be utilized to simplify daily calculations and price estimates.
