By relying on a proprietary multi-octave technology, a family of high-power transmit/receive (T/R) switches promises to be compatible with the latest gallium-nitride (GaN) and LDMOS solid-state amplifiers. The switches cover the 20-to-2500MHz band. The model M20-064 T/R switch, for example, is capable of handling up to 100 W with a low insertion loss of 1.0 dB maximum. Its output voltage-standing-wave ratio (VSWR) is less than 1.42:1. The switch operates from –40° to +85°C. The switches are built on ceramic substrate in a thermally efficient aluminum package. For noise immunity, a built-in driver circuit interface is TTL or RS-422.
