Designed for military applications, the model 3515B Military Portable Radio Test includes a color touchscreen and light-weight magnesium case for portability. It includes a tracking generator for testing passive components, such as cables and antennas, and can analyze channel bandwidths as wide as 5 MHz across a frequency range from 25 to 1000 MHz. Suitable for testing amplitude-modulated (AM) and frequency-modulated (FM) military radios, the tester weighs just 8.7 lbs. with battery, providing 4.5 h operating time on a single battery charge. It meets MIL-PRF-28800F Class-2 specifications for humidity, shock, and vibration, with an operating range of -0°C to +50°C. It can measure a variety of different radio parameters, including frequency error, modulation fidelity, frequency error, and can measure peak and average power at levels from 500 mW to 500 W. It incorporates a spectrum analyzer with -140 dBm displayed average noise level (DANL) and is available with optional oscilloscope for viewing the demodulated audio information from a radio under test. The tester can measure and display VSWR, return loss, reflection coefficient, crest factor, and complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF), and incorporate a USB port for connection to a computer. P&A: $22,485; 8 wks.
