Agilent Technologies as announced the availability of the Signal Studio for 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) software. The test software is designed to work with the company's model N5182A MXG signal generator and model E4438C ESG vector signal generators for creating the complex test signals needed for evaluating LTE wireless mobile communications designs. The 3GPP LTE standard is designed to provide a framework for the evolution of 3G wireless communications towards high-data-rate, packet-optimized radio-access technology for wireless broadband mobile services. The PC-based software works with the hardware to generate spectrally correct test signals for evaluating the components, such as power amplifiers, to be found in LTE mobile handsets and base stations. The software can control channel bandwidths, modulation type, number of channels, type of channels, power levels, and other parameters.
