Agilent Pull Wraps Off Handheld Spectrum Analyzer

Agilent Technologies has entered the handheld spectrum analyzer market with its first handheld RF spectrum analyzer. The Agilent N9340A operates from 100 kHz to 3 GHz with one-button measurements for occupied bandwidth, channel power, and adjacent-channel power, making it well suited for wireless installation and maintenance professionals. It has a built-in preamplifier. The displayed average noise level (DANL) with the preamplifier on is -144 dBm for a 30-Hz resolution-bandwidth filter at center frequencies to 1.5 GHz, and -124 dBm with the preamplifier off. The phase noise is -87 dBc/Hz offset 30 kz from the carrier. The analyzer weighs 3.5 kg with battery and features a large 7.2-inch color liquid-crystal-display (LCD) screen.
