Tektronix announced the addition of TD-SCDMA (the mobile telecommunications standard developed for China) as an option to its handheld NetTek(TM) Wireless RF Field Tester. The option enables network providers, network equipment manufacturers, and contractors to more easily diagnose TD-SCDMA Node B transmitter problems and effectively manage the roll out of the new technology. According to Wensheng Xu, Senior Technical Manager, Product Testing Department, Datang Mobile, "Tektronix' NetTek suite of RF field test applications will help us deliver the quality and reliability that our customers have come to expect from the new standard, leading to increased 3G services adoption and subscribers' satisfaction." The NetTek Tester is a rugged portable platform that supports a range of wireless RF measurements for standards, including UMTS/WCDMA, EDGE, GSM, CDMA2000 1x EV-DO, CDMA2000, cdmaOne (IS-95), and IS-136. The instrument's Windows-based user interface simplifies operation and minimizes training needs. The compact battery-powered tool, which weighs just over 12 lbs (4 kg), is lightweight and rugged for transport to remote sites. For more, visit the Tektronix web site at: www.tektronix.com.
