IMS 2020: RF Power Amplifier Targets Ku-band Satellite Comms

Aug. 5, 2020
Macom Technology Solutions introduced the new power amplifier at the virtual IMS trade conference, which runs from Tuesday, August 4, to Thursday, August 6.

Macom Technology Solutions introduced a new radio frequency power amplifier for the Ku-band, operating from 13.5 to 15 GHz for use in satellite and other radio communications.

The power amplifier, the MAAP-011313, supports four watts of saturated output power and 28% efficiency while biased at +6 V, and it is crammed in a 5-mm surface mount QFN plastic package. The chip can be used as a power amplifier stage or as a driver stage in higher power systems, and it is ideal for VSAT and point-to-point radio communications, Macom said.

The Lowell, Massachusetts-based company introduced the new power amplifier at the virtual IMS trade conference, which runs this week from Tuesday, August 4, to Thursday, August 6.
