AVX Corporation has expanded its BestCap series of capacitors to include low equivalent series resistance (ESR), double-layer capacitors with extended temperature range from -40 to +75C that are ideal for wireless applications. The capacitors feature high capacitance values from 6.8 mF to 1 F with voltage ratings from 3 to 15 V. The BestCap double-layer capacitors are available in three standard sizes. According to Bharat Rawal, the firm's Manager for BestCap Technology, "With the combination of its high capacitance and low ESR, AVX offers the industry's most advanced double-layer capacitors. We are excited about the opportunity to provide out customers with a device that features a unique combination of high pulse power and high energy characteristics."
