Market research specialist Parks Associates forecasts that the mobile imaging application market will exceed $500 million in revenue in 2013. In the firm's latest report on the topic, "Mobile Imaging: Platforms, Solutions, and Services," consumers are expected to be using camera-equipped mobile telephones for a variety of applications and will pay for enhanced capabilities to those mobile phones, such as photo-editing capabilities, comparison shopping, and social networking services. The report projects that consumers in the United States will spend more than $500 million in 2013 for imaging applications on their mobile phones, according to international research firm Parks Associates, which sees this market expanding beyond photo-sharing services to personalized content management and social networking applications.
