QualcommHas appointed Matt Grob Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Grob initially joined Qualcomm in 1991 as an engineer. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Corporate R&D. In addition, Kanwalinder Singh will head Business Development, New Markets for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT). Singh's most recent role was as President of Qualcomm India and South Asia. Finally, Dr. Avneesh Agrawal has been appointed Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India and South Asia. Previously, Agrawal served as Senior Vice President of Product Management at QCT.
Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA)Steven Laub, President and CEO of Atmel Corp., and Tun Doluca, President and CEO of Maxim Integrated Products, Inc., have joined the SIA board of directors. Both executives were approved by unanimous vote at a June 9 meeting of the board.

West Wireless Health Institute (WWHI)Dr. Robert Matthews has been appointed Chief Technology Officer. Matthews joins WWHI from Archinoetics, where he held the same title. In addition, Michael Caponetto has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. Caponetto previously served as CFO for Business Records Management.
Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)Herb Congdon, Campaign and Systems Marketing Manager for TE Connectivity, has been named Associate Vice President of Technology and Standards. Congdon has served on TIA engineering committees, TIA marketing sections, and other industry-standards committees for 15 years.
M/A-COMJames Dempsey has been promoted to Director of Global Distribution. A 25-year industry veteran, Dempsey most recently served as the company's Deputy Director of Distribution. In addition, Vincent Pelliccia has been named Senior Director of Asia-Pacific Sales. Pelliccia previously served as M/A-COM's Director of Sales Operations and Business Development.
