Military grade JMM-7000 power supplies with and without isolation

Rugged DC-DC Power Supplies for Embedded Computing

Aug. 6, 2019
Diamond Systems' JMM-7000 family of dc-dc power supplies feature multiple output options, and transient and brownout protection.

The JMM-7000 family of dc-dc power supplies is Diamond Systems' most recent series of highly configurable, low-power embedded-computing dc-dc power-supply solutions. The family has a large number of available models and military configurations, including 25- or 40-W power, and isolation/non-isolation options, says the company.

Integrated UPS backup options are available on all military models along with energy packs that have been designed for the JMM-7000 family. Backup energy is provided to maintain stable system operation in case of power interruption.

The new dc-dc power supplies raise the bar on critical power advances, including protection (transient, brownout, and reverse polarity), overall available power options, and configurability.

Features

  • Multiple output options:
    • 12-V dc output, 40 W with or without 500-V dc isolation
    • 5-V dc output, 25 W without isolation / 40 W with 500-V dc isolation
    • Dual 5-V + 12-V output option, 40 W with isolation
  • EMI compatibility to MIL-STD-461C/D/E/F and DO-160C/D/E/F/G requirements
  • Input immunity per MIL-STD704A/D/E/F, MIL-STD-1275A/B, and DO-160 cat A, B, and Z
  • Transient protection: 100 V dc/50 ms, 600 V dc/20 μs spikes
  • Brownout protection: 6 V dc/1 sec
  • Reverse-polarity protection
  • Designed to meet MIL-STD-810G shock/vibration specifications (large components epoxied to PCB)
  • Integrated UPS backup system using high-efficiency supercapacitor energy packs (standard or custom)
  • Built-in microcontroller provides real-time status of power-supply and backup energy bank
  • 3.55 x 3.775 inches (90 x 96 mm) PC/104 form factor (no bus connectors)
  • -40 to +85°C operating temperature
  • ACC-HS104-12.7 heat sink accessory

SEP-7000 Energy Packs

PC/104-sized supercapacitor energy packs have been designed for use with JMM-7000 power supplies (with UPS option) and provide up to 3300 J (watt-sec) of backup energy to maintain stable system operation in case of power interruption. SEP-7000 energy packs are available in two capacities and two configurations (cable connect and plug-on direct mount).
