Model 144 from CTS Electronic Components is a compact oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) that is ideal for use in portable and battery-powered electronic devices in need of a reference frequency source. It is only 8 mm high in a TO-8 housing, and uses an internal heating resonator (IHR) inside the package for a short warm-up time of 30 s or less. It is available in a frequency range from 8 to 120 MHz with worst-case frequency stability of ±5 ppb across temperatures from -30 to +70°C and typically ±2 ppb for variations in supply voltage of ±5%. The typical phase noise for a 10-MHz source is -127 dBc/Hz offset 10 Hz from the carrier and -166 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier. The compact OCXO operates on supply voltages from +4.75 to +5.25 with typical power consumption of 0.8 W.
