Small Synthesizer Spans 1.1 To 2.5 GHz

Broadband signal generation with low noise characteristics is essential for a wide range of wireless communications standards. To meet some of these needs, the model LFSW110250-50 frequency synthesizer from Synergy Microwave Corp. tunes from 1100 to 2500 MHz in 500-kHz steps.

It is designed for use with a 10-MHz reference and +5-VDC supply and is lead free and RoHS compliant. The compact frequency synthesizer delivers +5-dBm output power across the frequency range with typical spurious level of -75 dBc. The phase noise is typically -90 dBc/Hz offset 1 kHz from the carrier, -92 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier, and -115 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz from the carrier. The surface-mount synthesizer measures just 1.25 x 1.00 x 0.23 in.
