Low-Cost Mixers Build On LTCC Reliability

Leveraging the reliability of a proven low-temperature-cofired-ceramic (LTCC) multilayer circuit process, the MCA1 series of low-cost, broadband frequency mxers from Mini-Circuits is available for applications from 300 MHz to 6 GHz and for local oscillator (LO) power levels of +7, +10, and +13 dBm. The mixers feature insertion loss as low as typically 6 dB and as much as 40 dB isolation between ports. A typical unit, model SCM-2500, features an LO and RF range of 500 to 2500 MHz and intermediate-frequency (IF) range of DC to 500 MHz. The conversion loss is typically 5.88 dB with +7 dBm LO power. The LO-to-RF isolation is typically 36 dB while the LO-to-IF isolation is typically 18 dB.
