The ZLX series of frequency synthesizers from EM Research has been developed as a drop-in replacement for compact signal sources in a wide range of applications from 800 MHz to 3.8 GHz. They are supplied in a standard surface-mount package measuring just 0.6 x 0.6 x 0.14 in. The frequency synthesizers feature low power consumption of less than 100 mW when operating on a +3.3-VDC supply, and low phase noise of better than -106 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from a 3.1-GHz carrier.
